With Aaron Hernandez swarming the headlines we thought it would be cool to look into which of the top Florida football programs produced the most criminals.
The winner of this prestigious competition goes to Hernandez’s very own alma mater—The University of Florida.
According to The Alligator, 44 Florida football players have been arrested since Urban Myer became head coach in 2005. Florida also has coincidentally been the only team in the state since then to win a national championship. There must be something in the Alachua County prison water that leads these players to winning titles.
Just three days ago, Florida punter Grant Van Aman was arrested for a DUI for driving his scooter (something that gator students think is cool for some reason) under the influence. Fellow teammate Antonio Morrison was arrested a few days before that for punching a bouncer at a nightclub for not giving him discounted admission.
Maybe these kids should have been going to church with Tim Tebow more often.
Arrest Nation reveals the Gators have had the most arrests of the three major Florida football schools dating back to August 2010. With charges ranging from battery to marijuana possession to stalking women, the results are pretty hilarious. Here’s how the other major football schools stack up…
